Happy International Women's Day!
The South African Embassy in Ankara, Turkey honours and appreciates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women all over the world.
UN Women’s global theme for of International Women’s Day 2019 is ‘Think equal, build smart, innovate for change’. The theme focuses on innovative ways in which gender equality and the empowerment of women can be advanced, particularly in the areas of social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure.
International Women’s Day is celebrated around the world on the 8th of March and is a day to reflect on how far the world has come and how far the family of nations still has to go to truly achieve gender equality.
