Welcome Message October 2018
This month South African Embassy will continue to commemorate the Centenary Year of Former President Nelson Mandela with a “Nelson Mandela 100 Years Lecture” on 17 October 2018 at Middle East Technical University (METU) Department of International Relations.
The Embassy will also participate at The Second Turkey-Africa Economic and Business Forum jointly hosted by Turkish Ministry of Economy, African Union Commission (AUC) and DEIK/Turkey-Africa Business Councils on 10-11 October 2018.
Non-Permanent seat in the United Nation’s Security Council
South Africa was elected into the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) as the non-permanent member for the period 2019-2020. South Africa will prioritise the resolution of conflict on the African Continent in pursuit of the African Union’s aspiration of silencing the guns by 2020.
South African Investment Summit
South Africa will hold on the 26th of October 2018, an Investment Summit aimed at attracting Foreign Direct Investments. The Summit will be attended by economic stakeholders across the globe for outcome based interactions.
October is Marine Month and it’s commemorated to create awareness of South Africa's marine and coastal environments and the benefits that our oceans bring to our nation.
October is Transport Month and during this month South Africa aims to demonstrate some of the steps taken to respond to some transport challenges and progressively move towards mobility as a service.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and it aims to provide a long and healthy life for all South Africans.
