TRAVEL TURKEY İZMİR Tourism Fair and Congress
08-11 December 2016

The South African Embassy in the Republic of Turkey in collaboration with the Official Tourism, Trade & Investment promotion Agency for Cape Town and the Western Cape (WESGRO) will participate at the Travel Turkey İzmir Tourism Fair and Congress, which is one of the most significant gatherings of the tourism sector in Turkey.

Travel Turkey, İzmir, is celebrating its 10 Years of existence this year and is organized by the İzmir Fair Services (İZFAŞ) and Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB), under the auspices of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Travel Turkey, İzmir 2016 will host exhibitors and tourism professionals from various destinations worldwide in Turkey’s newest and most modern exposition centre, Fuar İzmir.

In 2015 Travel Turkey Izmir Tourism Fair and Conference hosted 1008 exhibitors from 31 different countries and had 33,688 visitors from 64 countries. This year it is expected that more people would visit the Fair. The Fair will enable exhibitors to strengthen their ties with both the domestic and foreign markets and to reach their business objectives. Exhibitors include a large number of representatives from Turkey’s regional governments.

The Travel Turkey Izmir Tourism Fair and Conference is an ideal platform in Turkey for the development of already existing business relations, establishment of new connections and partnerships, as well as for the promotion of South Africa as a business and travel destination.

This year from South Africa, the Official Tourism, Trade & Investment promotion Agency for Cape Town and the Western Cape (WESGRO) will participating in the fair to promote the City of Cape Town and the five regions of the Western Cape; The Cape Overberg, Garden Route & Klein Karoo, Cape Winelands, Cape Karoo and Cape West Coast.

WESGRO division include Tourism, Trade, Investment Promotion, Research, Film & Media and the Convention Bureau. The Western Cape is a region of unlimited potential and unlimited opportunity. WESGRO host and supports a range of internationally endorsed tourism events during the year to raise and increase awareness about Cape Town and the Western Cape as the preferred business and travel destination globally.

WESGRO’s participation at Travel Turkey will focus on promoting the Western Cape as;

• Adventure
• Excellent location for conferencing and business tourism
• Trade and investment

WESGRO will increase awareness of the Western Cape with a promotion to win a 7 x night holiday to Cape Town and the Western Cape with 2 x return flights, sponsored by Turkish Airlines.
