SA Outward Selling and Investment Mission (OSIM), 10-14 November
The South African Outward Selling and Investment Mission (OSIM) 2014 was held in Istanbul at the Sheraton Maslak Hotel, on 10 November 2014 in cooperation with the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) and on 12 November 2014 in Bursa at the Sheraton Hotel in cooperation with the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO). In each city, presentations on South Africa and Turkey were made followed by B2B meetings between South African companies and their Turkish partners. The delegations included business from various sectors.
The economic relationship between South Africa and Turkey is growing and the South African government is looking to develop the relationship to a much higher level by fostering business relations between the two countries. The OSIM is intended to grow the trade linkages between South Africa and Turkey as well as explore the investment opportunities that exist within both economies. The delegation included business from various sectors, including capital equipments and allied services, textiles and clothing, agro processing (dried and treated flowers, wine). 15 South African companies representing these sectors participated under the leadership of the Department of Trade and industry of the Republic of South Africa.
