Youth Month 2017
National Youth Development Agency launches Youth Month on 2 June 2017 as June is celebrated as Youth Month in South Africa, with a specific focus on 16 June, which is also known as Youth Day. Youth Month pays tribute to the school pupils who lost their lives during the 16 June 1976 uprising in Soweto.
This year Youth Month 2017 will be commemorated under the theme “The Year of OR Tambo: Advancing Youth Economic Empowerment”. The theme recognises the role that the youth of South Africa have played and are still playing in moving the country forward.
