The slogan was devised to reflect how far the country has come over the past 18 years since becoming a democracy and the increasingly significant role it is playing in international affairs. This includes being the only African nation to host a football World Cup, and being a leading force in the African Union, Southern African Development Community, New Partnership for Africa’s Development, the BRICS bloc (Brazil, Russian, India, China, South Africa) and the Group of 20.
